Where I Come From:
I grew up in Canton, CT from very humble beginnings. My story and life lessons learned is the basis for my keynote presentation “Donuts for Dinner”. At the urging of my friends, I am in the process of writing a book highlighting my life’s journey. I currently live in Windsor, CT helping my wife, Kathleen, run her family farm.
Jim holds an M.B.A. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a B.A. in Finance from Bryant College, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, a Charter Retirement Planning Counselor, and is an original Director of the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils (NAEPC) first virtual chapter. Jim is also a Certified Ethics Instructor by the CFP Board of Standards, Inc and has testified as an expert witness on ethical behavior by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
My unique abilities allow me to make positive changes in the world one family at a time. I feel it is my calling and duty to do so.
I have been chairman of the Town of Windsor’s Economic Development Commission, the Windsor Historical Society, FirstTown Downtown, Windsor International Little League, and was a travel softball coach for the CT Mirage and CT Tigers organizations. I also hosted my own financial planning television show entitled “Wealth Matters”, and educational program that featured interviews with prominent leaders within the state’s insurance, legal, and investment industry. In 2015, I was inducted into Canton High School’s Wall of Fame in recognition of outstanding leadership, scholarship, and civic duty.
